Mutual Aid Request Form

Welcome to the Temple of Dionysus Mutual Aid Resource Request Form. This is a place where you can ask for help or offer help to others in the spirit of xenia, the ancient Greek concept of hospitality and guest-friendship.

The Temple of Dionysus is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the God of theatre, celebration, and fun, as well as their companions, the Gods and Goddesses of Greek Mythology. We believe that mutual aid is a form of worship and a way of building community. As the poet Hesiod wrote, “A bad neighbor is a misfortune, as much as a good one is a great blessing.”

We are inspired by the examples of Dionysus and Hermes, who both showed kindness and generosity to strangers and travelers. Dionysus was the patron god of foreigners and outsiders, who welcomed them into his rites and festivals. Hermes was the messenger god, who protected travelers and merchants, and facilitated communication and exchange. Together, they embody the values of mutual aid: solidarity, reciprocity, and hospitality.

We invite you to join us in this practice by filling out this form. You can request resources locally from the Southern New England chapter of the Temple of Dionysus, or long distance from other members or allies. You can also answer requests for resources from others who need them. You can donate time, money, or resources to support our mutual aid efforts.

Please note that the Temple of Dionysus does not have a lot of resources to fulfill requests directly, but we can promote requests to our network and help connect people who can help each other. We rely on the generosity and goodwill of our members and friends to make this possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at dionysus@templeofdionysus.org. Thank you for your interest and participation in mutual aid.
